Νανοτεχνολογία: Η Ελλάδα είναι παρούσα στις εξελίξεις
Distinguished guests,
Dear friends of research and innovation,
It is with great pleasure that I join you today to deliver a greeting at the opening of the 22nd International Multi-Conference NANOTEXNOLOGY 2025, here in Thessaloniki, a city that brings together history, science, and an open outlook toward the future.
NANOTEXNOLOGY is not just a conference.
It is a global institution, a multifaceted scientific and technological event that encompasses three international conferences and numerous thematic sessions, showcasing the latest advancements in nanotechnology, nanobiotechnology, advanced materials, organic and printed electronics, green energy, digital innovation, Information and Communication Technologies, and nanomedicine.
This year, over 1,000 participants from 65 countries and representatives from more than 500 universities, research institutions, and companies are gathered here for a productive dialogue between science, technology, and industry.
A special mention must be made of the Laboratory for Thin Films – Nanobiomaterials – Nanosystems and Nanometrology (LTFN) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Center of Organic and Printed Electronics – COPE-Nano, and the Hellenic Organic and Printed Electronics Association (HOPE-A).
These leading institutions and associations are at the forefront of nanotechnology and printed electronics research in Greece and Europe.
Their continuous contributions drive progress in areas such as nanoelectronics, nanomedicine, smart textiles, energy, and environmental technologies, successfully bridging fundamental research with real-world innovation.
The importance of nanotechnology extends far beyond the laboratory.
Its applications are already shaping a global market that is expected to exceed €11.5 trillion by 2025, supporting the creation of over 1.5 million new high-tech companies and tens of millions of new jobs.
This is a true revolution that cuts across all sectors, from industry and healthcare to energy and the environment.
As Chairman of the Special Permanent Committee on Research and Technology of the Hellenic Parliament, I wish to emphasize that the State fully recognizes the strategic role of scientific research.
Promoting innovation, connecting knowledge with production, and supporting the researchers and entrepreneurs of tomorrow are key policy priorities.
I truly hope this conference proves to be creative, productive, and a catalyst for new international collaborations that will bring science closer to society and innovation closer to the citizen.
Thank you very much, and I wish you every success in the work of the conference!
